The Croydon Mosque & Islamic Centre (CMIC) emerged in the early 1970s, beginning in a small ground-floor hall in West Croydon before evolving over two decades into its present structure. The facility now comprises seven large halls with capacity for 3,500 people, expandable to 4,000.
The centre welcomes approximately 9,000 weekly visitors under normal circumstances, surging to 30,000 during Ramadan. It serves a diverse Muslim population of roughly 20,000 across the London Borough of Croydon, including communities from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, East Africa, Somalia, Turkey, Afghanistan, the Middle East, and Bosnia.

Islamic education for the next generation
Our aim is to educate the youth of the Ummah to inculcate the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah into their daily lives. In gaining Islamic knowledge and morals, students will be equipped to confidently transition into adulthood with a dignified character and respectable values that will further benefit the wider community and future generations.
The Croydon Mosque and Islamic Centre Madrasah provides structured learning for boys and girls aged 4-17. Children are taught Qur'anic and Islamic studies alongside authentic du'a & adhkaar memorisation. The madrassah enrolls over 500 children. Direct debit payment is mandatory for all students.
